An Art Deco style ring of Brighid (Briganti) the Celtic Goddess of Nature, whose sabbatic festival of Imbolc heralds the first signs of Spring. In Ireland, there is still the remnants of her worship at a church where an eternal fire is kept burning in her honour and tended only by nuns. The ancient Romans worshipped the Goddess Feb'rua, an earlier archetype of Brighid, who scared away the darkness of the long winter months. Her face is shown in profile with tendrils of her hair forming loops underneath and flowers blossoming in her hair. The fascia of the ring measures 20mm long and 15mm wide with decoration on the hilt. The ring is made of brass the metal sacred to Goddesses.
